Arlington National Cemetery

The very first person buried in the Arlington National Cemetery was Union Army William Henry Christman of Company G, 67th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.  Our Distant Cousin was buried on May 13, 1864.  Since then more then 300,000 people have been buried in the Arlington National Cemetery.   If you visit Arlington, PFC William Christman lies in Section 27 what was originally known as the Lee Rose Garden near the Lee-Custis Mansion area.
